Working with high-end furniture designers

Behind the scenes at Dovetailors, a major part of our business involves working with high-end furniture designers to develop concepts and bring new ideas to life.

We are currently working closely with the product development team of an innovative contemporary retailer on a wide variety of design projects.

As a small and flexible business, we get involved at every step of the process, collaborating with their furniture designers to develop modern and elegant furniture pieces.

We help to evolve the designs looking at the best way to create the furniture in terms of style and functionality. Our Master Craftsmen are specialists in coming up with creative solutions for curved furniture products such as high-end sofas, chairs and benches. We have the experience to advise on the best materials and how movement and flow can be created in the wood to complement the end product.

Here at Dovetailors, we also work with furniture designers to manufacture specialist wood components or to deliver a small batch run for a series of trial products.

As part of our tailored service, we offer a complete package from production design to development. With extensive market sector knowledge, we have systems in place to ensure the production run goes smoothly and is delivered on time and to budget.

When manufacturing bespoke commercial pieces, our key focus is to ensure the end product is true to the original vision. We can assist with the design process from start to finish using our computer assisted design facilities (CAD, CAM and CNC).

With FSC® certification, furniture designers and our commercial partners can be confident of our commitment to responsible timber sourcing.

We also have the very best equipment to develop their prototype at our fingertips. This year, we have invested in a new CNC wood carving machine. Our highly-skilled Master Craftsmen use this specialist equipment alongside traditional wood working techniques to create unique and durable bespoke furniture.

As we look to the future, we are looking forward to expanding the commercial elements of our business in 2018 and building on our successful work with high-end furniture designers to create innovative, high-quality and exquisite products.
