This burr oak hall table was designed for a customer as the centrepiece of their newly remodelled entrance hall. It needed to be both beautiful and practical as it would serve as somewhere to put the usual knick-knacks such as hair brushes and keys. It also needed to be easily and quickly accessible.
This is a unique hallway table featuring two concealed pivot drawers and a hinged lid to the top giving quick access to an interior storage compartment.
The top, drawers and lid of the hall table are all in burr oak set onto solid oak drawers with a distinctive shaped and tapered solid oak leg.
A neat inlay of solid ebony runs horizontally at the top and bottom of the carcass, concealing the drawer and lid lines and adding an elegant contrast to the burr oak.
The centre lid opens on bespoke oak and brass hinges with built-in stops that prevent damage and wear to the burr oak top and any wall against which the table would typically be placed.
We love this stunning ‘catwalk’ of a piece with its strong Art-Deco feel in the form of its top but also with a Mid-Century hint in the design of the legs.
