Dovetailors made this elegant adjustable music stand in oak to accompany the 3 ceremonial chairs we made for the Royal Maundy Thursday ceremony at Sheffield Cathedral in 2015. Both the chairs and lectern were designed by Clive England of Thomas Ford Architects (www.thomasford.co.uk) as part of the award-winning Gateway Project.
The stand sits on a tripod base providing essential stability to the lectern. Dovetailors created a bespoke sliding structure with a stainless steel locking mechanism to make it fully adjustable.
We love working on these smaller projects where every little thing counts towards the overall success of the piece of furniture – experienced woodworking skills, proficiency in technology, attention detail, and careful finish.
Dovetailors was able to give this special project the full benefit of its expertise in manipulating complex geometry to produce a lectern and stand which is graceful and fully functional and will last for many year to come.
The adjustable music stand is constructed in oak and hand finished in oil.
