Fitted furniture has the benefit of making the most of every inch of space available, particularly in a small or awkwardly shaped room, but it also has the disadvantage that you can’t take it with you if you move. This is why we often design freestanding furniture with a fitted look, giving all the benefits of a streamlined fitted home office or bedroom with the advantage that the furniture can be moved to other parts of the house or even to a new home when you move.
Fitted look home office
One of our recent fitted home office projects was a challenging and rewarding project for a customer who is in the process of renovating a Regency property. The bespoke attic home office was being planned for the attic and needed to have plenty of storage for books and files as well as providing a private area for study and meetings. 
As this was a period property, we were also very keen to design something that would be in keeping with the architectural features of the house which meant we incorporated period pilaster detailing.
The design had to take into account sloping ceilings and very specific practical requirements. We incorporated bespoke features that would make everyday use of the study as easy and enjoyable as possible. This included tiny details such as having a built in wiring system to allow for computer cooling and a peninsular bookcase which also acts as a space divider for privacy and practicality.
Despite everything being made to measure to maximise the space, our clever design is actually freestanding and can be repositioned around the attic or moved to a new location.
Fitted look bedroom
One of our latest product ranges was inspired by a project to create a freestanding cabin bed design for a customer’s small bedroom.
The fitted look cabin bedroom was such a success that we decided to develop a range of pieces that can work together in a variety of flexible formats to suit different sizes and shapes of room. We have also designed a number of different storage options which make the mid sleeper range for small bedrooms suitable for all ages, from young child through to teenager and even adult.
