This elegant extending oak dining table can seat up to 14 and extend to 3.5 metres in length. Perfect for entertaining guests on a epic scale, it also shrinks down quickly and easily for everyday dining.
The customer’s challenge
Our customer wanted a versatile table that was small and neat enough to use everyday but could quickly and easily adapt to seat a large number of people for entertaining. The key to this project was to create a table that didn’t look as if it was an extending table and was easy to assemble and dissemble.
Our solution
Complex technical calculations were required to develop a concept that would allow the table to change dimension smoothly. We produced 3D CAD and computer rendered images during the design process until we had a design that achieved the precise look and functionality the customer wanted. Despite the complexity of the design, the use of oak and clean lines keeps its appearance minimal and sleek.
