Our team here at our Yorkshire workshop has thoroughly enjoyed working on this bespoke home office corner desk.
The concept of the home office lends itself to individuality. It can become a very personal space that is completely different to an office in the corporate environment.
The brief
At the design stage we ask about purpose as well as style and help our customers create their own personal space where they will feel inspired.
Our Customer’s Challenge for this home office corner desk
Finding a desk that meets the demands of both worker and workspace is a frequent challenge and one we have been called upon to solve time and again.
Our bespoke corner desk design for this home office project combined intelligence and beauty, bringing together design elements that were visually striking and functionally brilliant.
Dovetailors Design Team’s Solution
Tailor-made for the space available, this handcrafted corner desk has a curved design with drawers that fan out as they open, making them easily accessible by the person seated at it.
Knowing that this was to be more than just a place to work, we were keen to create a piece of furniture that was magnificent in its own right, adding splendour to the room. This was achieved by using a walnut burr and ebony inlay for texture, contrast and glamour.
Corner desk special features:
- Curved design creates a natural workflow
- Swivel drawers pull away for ease of access
- Luxurious English burr walnut
- Ebony inlay adds a pleasant contrast
- Glass worktop for protection
- Finished in lacquer for easy maintenance
What the customer said
We are delighted with the result, as is our customer who tells us it is a pleasure to sit at, adding:
“It certainly has the ‘wow’ factor – that seems to be the common reaction of people who see it!”
