The past 18 months have been characterised by the growth of the work from home culture and a desire to invest in the spaces where we spend most of our time. It comes as no surprise then that our bestselling product of 2021 is something that most of our customers have commissioned for their home office.
We are delighted to reveal that this year’s bestseller is our super stylish wooden trestle design, which we make to order in pairs ready for customers to add their own table top.
We have been making custom trestle desk legs for homes and offices in London, Newcastle, Lancashire, Harrogate, Leeds – and even the Caribbean!
This week alone we have sent two pairs of walnut non-adjustable trestle legs to customers in Scarborough and Harrogate and another pair of adjustable oak legs with walnut supports to a customer in Surrey, who was repurposing a glass top they already had to use with them.
Their popularity during 2021 has been quite incredible and partly down to the fact that we spent some time perfecting our calculation process so that we can quickly work out the size of trestle needed for a particular shape of desk and type of desk top. This has opened up a whole new market for corner trestle desks and large trestle style work desks for large offices and co-working spaces. We can also make adjustable height trestle legs.
Another reason for the uplift in sales, aside from the fact that more people are working from home at the moment, is that this design is so versatile. We provide the legs and customers can then add a table top to suit their style. Glass is a favourite option because it shows off the warmth and grain of the wooden legs. The legs themselves can be customised too, using different woods. Oak is still one of the bestselling options and walnut is another popular choice. We also offer sapele and combinations of oak and walnut or oak and sapele.
