Farsley Community WeekendHere at Dovetailors, we’re counting down the days until we join the fun and games at Farsley Community Weekend.

There’s an exciting programme of events lined up from Saturday 25th – Sunday 26th June and we are proud and delighted to be part of this special occasion once again.

Sunny Bank Mills is at the heart of the local community physically and historically and we are looking forward to getting involved in this year’s summer event.

Farsley Community Weekend will be two days of events designed to showcase the variety and abundance of creativity and community spirit through a range of activities, performances and feasts. There promises to be something for everyone.

The theme is textiles and the community has already contributed to the weekend with the pom pom installation at St John’s Church.

We’re a fine furniture and accessories maker based in Sunny Bank Mills, so when better to showcase what we do than at the community weekend?

On the Saturday, from 11-4pm, children and their families can experience design by coming to Dovetailors and decorating wooden shapes.

They can let their imagination run riot and we’ll be on hand to help inspire, using a variety of material. We can’t wait to see if there’s some budding designers out there in the Farsley community. Come along and show that Farsley’s got talent!

Dovetailors design and make bespoke furniture and accessories and we are keen to share our passion for design and wood craftsmanship with everyone. We really hope that people will enjoy this fun and creative day.

Farsley people will have seen the imposing Sunny Bank Mills building and probably wondered what goes on inside. Well now’s your chance to find out!

Farley Community WeekendOn the day, we will also be exhibiting the work of Catherine Martel, one of the talented designers who collaborate with us.

Founder of ‘Mon Petit Pois’, Catherine draws her inspiration from natural designs and creates wonderful handmade wooden objects for babies, children and their families. Parents can browse while the children create.

Her collection includes stunning objects for a beautiful home life and for special occasions such as weddings, christenings and anniversaries.

Once you’ve popped in to see us, there’s plenty of other events taking place over the weekend.
