Fitted bedroom with a personal touch

Investing in bespoke fitted bedroom furniture is one of the best ways of keeping your bedroom calm and clutter free, an option that can also add a very personal touch to your room.

One of our latest bespoke fitted furniture projects is an excellent example of how our personal design service can create something unique and inspiring.

The customer had seen our distinctive wave kitchen designs and wanted to use a similar theme in their bedroom. They wanted to incorporate fitted wardrobes, bedside tables and a chest of drawers featuring a motif similar to the flowing pattern on the kitchens they had admired.

We explored a number of adaptations of the wave design with the couple, including a ribbon motif.

In the end their favourite was a pattern made up of many waves in different wood finishes and we set about developing this concept further.

Plenty of tweaks and trials were needed to create the design rules and style needed to allow five waves in contrasting woods to flow and play off one another. The final pattern is a harmonious blend of curves stretching out across the surfaces in the room to create a pleasing vista and a calming effect.

The couple were thrilled to see their vision transformed into a real, functional room and they really appreciate the workmanship that has gone into creating smooth running drawers, clever storage space and robust doors and frames. The doors and drawers are push to open, the interiors have adjustable shelves and chrome hangers and the interior layout, along with fixtures and fittings, is completely bespoke to meet the couple’s specific requirements.

The wood combination we used was maple, oak, walnut and burr oak, with maple walnut edging and solid oak drawers.

This bespoke fitted bedroom is our third interpretation of the wave design and we have come a long way in its implementation. The complexity of bringing together five random organic wave forms into a perfectly tessellated marquetry panel and insetting it onto a maple canvas could only be achieved with CAD and CNC technology.
