Our oak refectory table (Medieval in origin) is a true classic that will work well in both traditional and modern settings.
Made with expertise
The oak refectory table is made in our workshop from rough-sawn logs hand-selected by our craftsmen, and planed, jointed and assembled using traditional techniques. It is built to an extremely high standard so that it will withstand many years of use.
Elegant and robust, it is sturdy enough to be a centrepiece for everyday family life yet stylish enough to host special occasions, gatherings and dinner parties.
This solid wood dining table is offered in European oak but we are very happy to quote for alternative hardwoods such as walnut, cherry, maple and elm.
Finished with care
The Oak Refectory Table is beautifully hand-finished in Osmo Polyx Hardwax-Oil in clear satin. We chose this finish because it is made from natural oils and waxes, and is breathable and clear. This allows the true colour and character of the wood to shine through. And it is hard-wearing and water-resistant, making it a family-friendly finish.

Peace of Mind
Our products are built to extremely high standards so that they will withstand many years of use. If you change your mind or are unhappy with your Dovetailors product we will refund or exchange it, if you let us know within 7 days of receiving your item and provided it is returned to us within 28 days in its original packaging and condition. This does not apply to bespoke or personalised items.
- Constructed from 3" quarter-sawn European oak
- Hand-jointed from single length wide boards
- 4" legs are half-lap jointed to form 'X' frame
- It features a 3 inch thick table top
- A pegged mortice and tennon frame construction with a lap jointed "X" for strength
- Rails are mortice and tenoned into the legs with oak pegs
- It has Tethlon foot pads aid gliding and facilitate moving
Delivery Times
We personally deliver all large pieces of furniture and will arrange delivery with you on a day and at a time that suits you.
For smaller items, we use a standard 2-5 day courier service. A signature is usually required on receipt, so please ensure someone is available at the delivery address. To arrange a weekend delivery, please contact our team. If, for any reason, we are unable to dispatch your order, or if you have chosen to collect your order, a member of our team will contact you with further details.
Delivery Costs
We offer a free delivery service within a 50-mile radius of our workshop in Leeds. Alternatively, you may choose to pick up your item from our workshop, and we will be delighted to see you and have a chat with you!
