The customer’s challenge
We were asked to come up with a modern square extending oak table design based on a simple arts and crafts style. The table needed to be able to extend to seat up to 12 people.
Our design solution
We used solid oak and designed a cross pedestal which gives the square table a striking and balanced contemporary feel. A split octagonal central pillar allows the two halves of the pedestal to separate to give support when the table is extended without losing the arts and crafts style of the piece.
