Glass top

Our glass and wood trestle desk uses 10mm toughened glass with radiused and polished edges. Our glass is manufactured locally to us in the North of England so that we have complete control over quality, guaranteeing a high specification product for customers who care about design.

PLEASE NOTE: While we craft the wooden trestle legs in-house, the glass top is supplied by a trusted third-party manufacturer. This means the glass will be shipped separately, and typically arrives within two weeks of your order.

Important details to keep in mind:

• The glass top is delivered separately from the legs and usually on a different date.
• The delivery company will require someone to be present to receive the glass.
• The driver may require assistance in carrying the glass into your property and are also only able to deliver it to the ground floor and cannot navigate stairs.
• After placing your order, you will receive a detailed email from the glass manufacturer with further information, including their delivery terms and policies.

Made With Expertise

Our wooden trestle desk legs are selected and constructed with attention to beauty and strength. We hand-select the 2.5” thick solid wood from which the legs of the trestles are cut. They are tapered and parts of the rail are hand-planed and hand-carved.

We have chosen the traditional jointing technique of loose tenon, which we have reinforced with steel for sturdiness and durability. In addition to the inherent stability of any tripod design, we have built micro-adjusting bespoke stainless steel glass supports into the trestle desk legs, which will deal with the most uneven floor surfaces, including flagstones and old floorboards.

Your glass top will be measured and made according to your specification. We will manage the whole process for you.

Finished With Care

Our trestle desk legs are hand-finished in Osmo Polyx Hardwax-Oil in clear satin. We have chosen this finish because it is made from natural oils and waxes, and is breathable and clear. This allows the true colour and character of the wood to shine through and compliment out glass and wood trestle desk combination. Hard-wearing and water-resistant, it gives a family-friendly finish to the glass and wood trestle desk.

Peace of Mind

Our products are built to extremely high standards so that they will withstand many years of use. If you change your mind or are unhappy with your Dovetailors product we will refund or exchange it, if you let us know within 7 days of receiving your item and provided it is returned to us within 28 days in its original packaging and condition. This does not apply to bespoke or personalised items.
